A Quilters' Adirondack Retreat 2007

Our 2007 retreat is but a memory--what a great time we had!  Here is a picture of our group on our first night:

There were six women who had been with us for the entire five years of the retreat.  Each received a handmade felt needlecase in commemoration of this momentous event!

On our second night we had show and tell.  While there were many fabulous quilts shown, I have chosen two to highlight because of space.  Here's Cindy with her very first quilt!  It's absolutely wonderful!  Way to go, Cindy!

Then Roz, one of our Canadian friends, showed us this quilt, which she is donating to help raise funds for breast cancer research.  Roz is a breast cancer survivor and has generously donated many quilts to help fund the cure and to raise awareness.  Proving yet again that quilters are very generous.

Here's Anita showing the group some dimensional work:

It always seems like three days and four nights will last forever, but it is over in the blink of an eye.  Here is our group on the last morning.  It's amazing how much each got done on their projects, as we also had games each night, show and tell, and worked on a comfort quilt for a friend who could not be with us this year because of a recent breast cancer diagnosis.  No grass grew on us!  We had a great time.  We are in the process of planning next year's retreat; check back here or at www.thimbleworks.com for more information as it becomes available.

Here a picture of my sample:  reverse appliqued circles under the center, black-eyed Susans with ruched centers, flat berries, ruched hyacinths.
